Short Update

After much thought, I have decided that.....I am still taking some time off.
However, I do plan on being back for the 2nd Half of the BBTwo, so approximately mid-November is my planned return. Give myself a month to recharge, take a cruise with my wife, and play some live poker. So tentatively I plan on being back for Monday at the Hoy on November 19th. I will update on life in general, and my live playing in the meantime. Thanks for those who commented on my blog and wished me well otherwise, I will return!

Turn out the lights, the party is over.

I am done. I am taking a VERY long break from online poker. I am tired of Full Tilt, I am tired of getting my money in with the best hand to be rivered too many times. I have bled through 35% of my bankroll in 2 weeks (A considerable $275, at least considerable to me.), and this is without playing anything over a $11 buy-in. The final straw was in the Blogger Big Game last night, where I started off great, played some of the best poker I can, and this happens:

I may be back after the new year to try and make the World Series of Poker, or I may just cash out, I really havent decided yet.

Thank you for those of you who have read my stuff here, I do appreciate it. I know I will keep reading everyone, but my heart just isnt in playing anymore.

Hope BBTwo goes well for you all, but I dont think I meant to be playing in it. I will just lose to much of my bankroll doing something I am just not feeling right now. I hope I have the love of the game back when/if BBThree comes around.

Final Table Live

Played in the first tournament of seven for the Big Dog Series of Poker last night. 3000 chips, 25 minute blind levels. 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 400/800, 500/1000, then doubling from there and 41 players. Early in the 25/50 round with A5 suited, I flopped a 5, turned another 5, and still lost over 1/2 my chips as higher full house took the hand. Was down to 1,200 when I wake to AA, it holds against QQ. Four hands later AA agains, holds against KK this time. All of a sudden I am up to 5700 chips. Play good tight poker and am up to 11,000 with the blinds at 500/1000. Dealt KK, and player to my right goes all in for his last 5,200. I call, and he turns over AJ off suited. Harmless flop, Ace on the turn and I am drawing to Four Queens as another King would give him a straight. Pretty much card dead, and finally pushed last 5,000 chips in with pocket 8s. Two callers and end up losing to a pair of 9s. Finisthed 10th, which gives me 11 points towards qualifying for the tournament of champions, which the winner of this tournament only earned 20 points, so I am great shape so far.

Big Game tonight, finished 3rd in a Tier 2 Token SnG, making $66, so I used that and added the other $9 for my entry. As of 2:30 PM Sunday, there were already 33 players for the $75 buy-in. BBTwo will be off to a great start!

Another disappointing night

Played the Riverchasers and Tier 2 Token Frenzy last night. Riverchasers I played well until the large stack in the tournamnet ended up on my left right before the break. I got impatient and tired of watch him steal (?) a lot of blinds, so I pushed by QQ into him as he was the small blind. Of course he has KK.
Token frenzy was another story. Played well, made good reads. Player to my left on a short stack pushed on me on what I was sure was a steal against my AKsuited. Sure enought, he had 75off. Flops a 5 and doubles up. leaving me below 1,000 chips. So I get A9suited a few hands later, and push it against the chip leader. He class with AK, but I flop the 9, and end up with the nut flush, and he calls me a moron. How exactly is pushing with a suited Ace when my M<3 and no one has even opened the pot make me a moron? Yes I got lucky, as I was behind, but moronic? NO! So I skated the thin ice, and finally got knocked out in 20th, where only 18 got tokens. I got more then my buy-in back, but I will have a couple of shots on Sunday to get into the Big Game as part of the BBTwo (I am sure that is going to cost me $5 to whoever copyrighted that). Live poker on Saturday night (1st tournament in the annual Top Dog of Poker Series). I will updated you all on that Sunday morning.

Battle of The Bloggers 2

It's back. And after looking at the structure, and the prizes, I can say that I will be back playing them too. I was really rethinking about a lot of things involving the last run, how I played more events that I probably would have wanted to, just to make the freeroll that I then donked by way out of. The addition of weekly prizes, plus the freeroll at the end, PLUS the tournamnet of champions for a seat at the Aussie Millions, make this a can't miss series. I am actually more psyched about this now then I am for the FTOPS. Hope you all are too!

Online Not Going Well

Played the Mookie yesterday, started good with AKsuited, and flopped the nut flush. Let PushDonkey72 lead out on each street, figuring if he flopped the straight also I could wipe a lot of his money out. Worked until the river, when I checked, and he checked back! Played more aggressive then usual, and was down to about 1500 chips when I get QQ. Was raised before it got to me, and the pushed all-in. The donkey types "Ok, lets race" and calls flipping over K10. Three freaking outs. So of course the King comes on the flop. Sick. I have dropped about 10% on my online bankroll in the past week, with no cashes in 4 SNGs. The only positive was satelliting into the $50+$5 15K on Full Tilt earlier this week, only to finish 52nd of 415. Paid out at 45th, so very little to show for anything lately.

Playing live on 20th (Top Dog Series) and 27th (1st of 5 tournaments for a WSOP Main Event seat). I would be surprise if I play any online before then, but you never know.

First Foray into Cash Games

Decided to play $.25/$.50 NLHE last night, with a $50.00 buy-in. Played very agressive but good poker, and managed to stack a couple of shorties early. Within 100 hands I had actually seen flops in 40% (much higher then my norm), but won 22% of all the hands. Was up two buy-ins at one point, and when I got back down to $135, it finally hit me hard. I was dealt pocket 3's and called a raise of $3 from the blind. Flop came down 3s4s6s, giving me Trip 3's but a flush was possible. The blind and I basically raised and reraised each other until he was all in, and he turned over QQ, but one of them was a spade. Sure enough spades on both the turn and the river, and I am down to $65. I played a few more hands, and left up $15 for the night as I had just won my $26 token in the Tier 1 Token Frenzy at the same time. Played the Riverchasers, and got rivered with a flush once again to take 1/2 my stack, and then pushed my AA into 88, with an 8 coming on the river to take me out way too early.
