Friday Night Donkament and Skillz Game Pimp

Played the Friday Night Donkament that Katitude hosts, and had a great old time. Managed to only rebuy 7 times, and go into the true playing in 5th place out of 15. I did finally manage to get knocked out in 7th, but after playing a lot of deep stack poker, so it was nice and gave me a chance to try a few new things with my game. I did also get a chance to interact some with the Buddy Dank Radio crew (via the chat box), and some Yahoo chat too. I had not done any Yahoo Chat previously with bloggers, but it was fun, and everyone was really nice. I hope really hope that it is decided soon about the Summer Blogger meeting, so I can get the right weekend set up in Vegas for my family. I am really hoping for the 2nd weekend as it would give me a chance to play in the WSOP Limit Hold'em Tournament that starts on Friday June 12th.

To make this more readable when enlarged, I am going to do only a top 50 weekly or just cashers when it gets to over 50 cashers, and will do mulitple spreadsheets the first of every month staring in April for all players.

Summer Blogger Gathering?

Does anyone know if/when the gathering may be this summer? I am hoping to finally get a chance to come out and meet some of you bloggers in person, but I am having to work it around a family trip to California. If anyone has any information, or can point me to a blog with information about it, I would greatly appreciate it.

So Close to a BBT4 seat, and yet so far

So I managed to somehow make it to heads up in The Skillz Game last night, thanks in no small part to reading blogs (CK's) to learn how to better my PLO game. After a slow start, I saw only about 28% flops (compared to my usual 40%+ in PLO) and either hit on the flop, or used to well time aggression to stay in the top of the chip stacks after the second break. I went totally card dead, and by the time we hit the final table, I was 9th of 9, but at least was going to make some money. I honestly couldnt have played more then 5 hands (folding the rest preflop) until I hit heads up, watching as player after player pushed in F-Train, who ran over pretty much anyone. By the time I made it to heads-up, I had about 24,000 chips, unfortunetly F-Train had about 230,000 chips. I think I may have lasted about 10 hands, but I will take the $135 cash (how I made it to heads up knocking out only 2 of 84 players is beyond me). Great job by F-Train, and I think I added about 50% to my bankroll with my 2nd place finish.

Skillz Game Tonight - Pot Limit Omaha

This one should be really interesting tonight, as we definately have some Omaha experts (as much as one can be) that will be playing, put I am guessing that in a Pot Limit game the donkey factor will be running high also. Personally, I either want to last until the very end and win a seat tonight, or have someone play their donkey cards against me and suck out so I can go to bed. Playing 2 1/2 hours like I did last night in the Rivershasers event just to finish 20th and get no cash or points just sucked. (And since when is AKo > A7o? I should suck out on that one every time!).

The highest turnout since I have been running the Skillz Game came out, with an amazing 73 showing up to win a shot at the TOC for the BBT4.

We lost our first player about 33 minutes in (also a record since I started running this), and it went fast and furious once we got down to 50 and blinds started getting high.

Hoyazo went out on the final table/cash bubble, with nzgreen and bayne_s the only multiple time Skillz game players this year making the final table.

It came down to SmBoatDrinks and ShipFaced12 in heads up, with ShipFaced at a 2:1 disadvantage, which at one point was close to 4:1 during heads up, but a valiant comeback gave ShipFaced12 the BBT4 TOC seat.

Cash Leaderboard will be updated later this week, have some work to do on the spreadsheet.

Be sure to play the Mookie tonight, for another shot at a BBT4 TOC seat, and come back next Tuesday when the game is Pot Limit Omaha.
